About Us
Metro Kickball is one of DC's newest and most unique social sports leagues designed for 20's and 30's. Metro Kickball realizes that kickball is supposed to be a fun, social game that should not be taken too seriously. The primary goal of our games is to have fun, not to destroy your opponent. In addition, we encourage off the field socializing through a variety of unique, after-game events at local bars and restaurants. Here's how we are taking a different approach to this childhood game so that you can have as much fun now has you did back in grade school:
Designed For Fun Not Frustration
MetroKickball is bringing back the fun to kickball. There are plenty of opportunities in the city to play in a hyper-competitive sports league, but we are not one of them. We have established rules that will assure that our games are associated with laughter, not arguments. One of the ways we are different is that we allow teams to pitch to themselves so no one ever strikes out in our games. Since everyone will always have the chance to kick the ball, we do not allow bunting. In addition, we are hiring umpires for the games so that you are never stuck volunteer umping while your friends are at the bar. Learn more about how we are changing the Rules for the better.
More Fun After The Games
The fun does not have to stop after the game. MetroKickball works with our sponsor bar to give our players the opportunity to meet other people through a variety of activities such as wine tastings, karaoke, pop culture trivia nights, and more. We do not have anything against the occasional beer game, but we think there are other fun activities that do not involve the risk of meningitis.
